Quilting trip
#1
My quilting friend and I are looking for a couple days away exploring with quilting in mind. we are from central PA. Any unique and interesting places we could visit? Is there any such thing as a flea market for quilters?

I know that they do quilt "shop hops" in the Western PA area twice a year and there seems to be plenty of stores to visit. Check online and when you put in quilt shops in the Pittsburgh area you will get a list. Good luck!

Here's a listing of quilt museums that might head you in one direction or another (click on the name of a museum to go to it's website). http://www.quilthistory.com/museums.htm
Not included on that list are the State Museum of PA in Harrisburg http://www.statemuseumpa.org/quilts05new/pages/home.htm and the International Quilt Study Center and Museum in Lincoln, NE

I should mention that also missing from the list is the Bennington Museum in Bennington, VT, home of the Jane Stickle quilt (the Dear Jane quilt). It is on exhibit once each year, usually from mid Sept to mid Oct, Check their website for more info. http://www.benningtonmuseum.com/index.aspx.
And for those of you with fishing crazed husbands (Loretta), Bennington is also home of the American Museum of Fly Fishing!
