Hey all,
After reading about all the difficulties quilters have with basting or squaring up their quilts, I decided to do something about it. On Saturday afternoons at 2pm, I am opening up my church fellowship hall to all crafters. We have long tables that can be moved around and put together. I have decided to call it a Crafters Bee. I decided to open it up to all crafters as a place to share, socialize and work on your project. I gave the information to the local quilter’s guild and fabric shops. I started this on Oct. 15th and did have some quilters show up to square up a quilt. We also had some that wanted to cut out a pattern. I did some cutting out and worked on finishing a knitting project. So if you live in the area come on down.

I've been trying to get the idea of a 'Crafts and Coffee (and cakes!)' going in a few different places here in Sweden ... just the idea of a number of like minds gathering in a place with enough chairs and tables for all, bringing along existing crafting projects of all kinds and making some progress on your own whilst rubber-necking at what others are doing .... lovely!
You inspire me to try again ... I will use my inadequate Swedish the next time I see someone from the village committee!
In the meantime I will think fondly of coming to one of yours, but it'll have to be a virtual presence I'm afraid!
