Used to have a major problem when rotary cutting in my kitchen under the florescent lights. The glare coming off the rulers had me moving my head all around so I could see the measurement marks. Must have looked funny! It became such a nuisance that I got a can of Minwax Polyurethane Clear Satin spray and gave each ruler 2 thin coats. The difference is remarkable as you can see. I know Olfa now makes a frosted ruler but the frosting is on the bottom for gripping fabric and doesn't solve the glare.

Thats a good idea!
I cut and sew on my "kitchen" table that is in my "dining" room really just one long room half kitchen half eating area, anyways there is a light in both areas, I normally turn the light out over head in the dining room and use the kitchen ligh it doesn't glare but I do get weird looks from my husband when I turn one light out and the other on in an area I am not working!
