Scalloped border?
#1
A couple months ago I bought a Fons and Porter magazine for a quilt design that I really liked. I decided I wanted to make that quilt for my god daughter. So I modified the design to make it smaller and a little less scrappy.

I'm thinking about putting in a scallop border, but I'm not 100% sure on it. Think it would look good with a scallop border and what would be the easiest way to acheive it?

If you wanted scallops, you should check out Eddie's tutorial:

I think his method would work well with your sketch. Note - his pics start on pg 3, but the directions start at the beginning. If you followed the contour of the rings with the scallops, it would probably look pretty good.

It took a little Photoshopping, but I put a scalloped border on the design to give a better idea on what it would look like. I put it on a black background so it would show up better. And I do realize the scallops are a tad bit too deep (I did this kind of quick), but again this is just to give a better idea on what it would look like with scallops.

I did the Ribbon Puzzle block from quilterscache.com:

This was only the 3rd large quilt I had made.....almost 5 years ago now.
The pattern is a bit different from yours as they ribbons are not made from individual blocks, but I did scallop the edges (and did a cross hatch quilting on the border).
