In Search of...A quit pattern using 1/3 yard cuts
A quit pattern using 1/3 yard cuts. I was in Ohio a couple weeks ago and was gifted a "1/3 yard cut bundle." I believe there are 9 fabrics. Any ideas on patterns?

Lay all the fabric out on a large table. Move it about, place them next to each other, then switch places. When you get tired or bored, put them away and do something else. Keep doing this and something will pop in your mind. That's what the designers do.

I , too, have not seen them offered for sale, but they'd be good for any pattern that needs 12" or 6" or 4" or 3" squares or strips. Other sizes would work, of course, but those would leave the least waste, unless you pre-shrink and don't really have a 12" cut to work with.

If you have the full 12" cuts, then you can do Elenor Burn's Quick Trip around the World. You would need a border and a backing fabric. You can finish the top in a day. In class, very few of us were able to do it that fast because we were talking and watching demos also. But the entire quilt is easily finished in a week in your spare time.
