Sears Kenmore model 1880
#1
I have a friend who is being offered a free Sears Kenmore Model 1880 Dual-Sew machine. She wants to know if it is a machine she should accept. I told her yes, but she wants an answer from someone who knows more about machines than I do. She said she is only interested in blind-hemming with the machine. Thanks much for your responses!

The 1880 was made in 1977 and it has free-arm capability, uses cams to create decorative and utility stitches, and it takes a 15X1 needle and a class 15 bobbin. (The blind hem may be built in and not need a cam)
I would accept it in a minute. :) A little cleaning up and perhaps replacement of the belt and it could sew for another 50 years.
