I have a babyloc serger, and love it. I do not use it in quilting though. I used it once just to do the seams of my fabric for backing. The seams are heavy and stand out on the back of that quilt due to the amount of thread/stitches a serger uses. Borrow one from someone if you can first and see if it something you really want. I mainly use my serger for home dec, like drapes, dust ruffles, pillows, etc. Babyloc has the advantage of a very easy patented threading system making it very easy to thread.

I also have a Baby Loc serger, but do not use it for quilting. I use it for home dec and doing alterations.I love it.Mine is about 11 or 12 years old and just recently I started having problems with it not pulling the fabric right. I order a new set of knives and it's better, but still needs some sort of ajustment.
