Hello my sewing friends,
I have a chance to get one of these at an ok price (gently used). I was hoping for some reviews from those of you who actually use this machine.
I am curious about embroidery now, and thought this might be a place to start. Good or bad I would like to hear.
Thanks 8)

Turtle, that's the machine I have and so does Ceannastar, we both love it.In fact I used it for piecing once when my other machine was in the shop and I liked it better for that too, but I bought it for embroidery so I can multi task. How used is it and why are they selling it, also if you don't mind saying, how much are they asking for it? There were some software issues with my computer but Singer furnishes a "patch". Ceannastar got me thru that, I had to do it several times but now everything works just fine. Mine was a gift but I know it cost around 500$ at WM and I think it's worth it. It can use any embroidery format which makes it easy choosing designs. Good luck.

Hi Kathy,
Thanks for the reply. The lady is a friend of a friend type deal. She is selling for $350. It is supposed to have only been used for a couple of small projects.
I see that I can get a re-furbished one now for $400 and that comes with the full warranty. Seems like that would be a better deal (in case there was a problem).
Do you find you use the embroidery machine a lot? I don't do a whole lot of projects, but I love to mess around with new ideas.
What do you think of a refurbished machine?
Thanks so much.

Hi Turtle, for the extra $50 I'd go for the refurbishe. That usualy means the orginal box was damaged or something.
I find that I use mine alot. Kathy and I both did a quilt with all embroidered blocks of flowers. I find that I like to add embroidery to the solid center square of a quilt block.
If you look in the picture page http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/8444.page this quilt was down on the futura. It was raffled off for the Dairy Princess program and raised $200.
Once you get going you'll find the machine very user friendly.
One of the things I liked besides all the differnt formats you can use is that it connects right to your comper so no need to buy all thoese PED cards and such. I save all my embroidery files in a folder in My Doucments.
My machine is always hook up to the computer and I can be on surfer or reading messages as it working. Infact it is embroidering right now as I'm writing to you.
If you have any questions in particuls just pm me or Kathy we would be glad to answer them
