I have one, and I would not recommend it. There was a problem with the first one (bobbin issues) and it had to be returned and the second one doesn't have the bobbin issue as bad but it's only slightly better. I wish I had waited and bought a different machine.

I recently bought a Brother SE 350 for less than $400.00 and Love it, I have already embroidered on everything I can get my hands on and it is a regular sewing machine also. I bought the PED basic for downloading designs off the computer ($120.00) and it is worth every penny! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I would recommend this if you want to dabble at embroidery, It only does a 4x4 inch designs but so far it is big enough. Great machine for the price.

i have the singer futura 200 and i'm extremely happy with it.
i average about 3-4 hours of sewing a day, 6 days a week, since the day i purchased it 6 years ago.
i've never had 1 problem with the machine and its never been in the shop for servicing. DH does routine cleaning/check ups for me.
i don't do tons of embroidery but what i have done always looks wonderful. i like that it reads so many different embroidery formats.

reading this and paying attention. I bought a used one months ago and this week end I plan on overcoming my fear and set it up and start to use it. I read the books 3 times- now, just to plug it in and get going. Why do I obsess over a stinkin' machine?
