singer Pixie Plus ???

todays Joanns flyer had an ad for a Singer Pixie Plus SM. On sale for 49.99 -- Has anyone tried it??
I am in the nmarket for a portable to take to my quilt group here in Olympia. The ad says 4 stitches, drop in bobbin and AC or battery.
It isn't much money --- and I would prefer a FW like I have in Maine. But if it really works it would be worth it
Any comments, please.Mim

A $49 machine is just that---you get what you pay for. I have some other machines that are around that price and they're basically a novelty toy. They're so light weight that they're hard to sew on because they keep moving. They also sound like Ka-Chunk Ka-Chunk Ka-Chunk when they sew. And they go soooo slooooooowwwww.

My grand daughter (8 years old) got one for Christmas and it was a piece of junk. She used the foot pedal 1 day and it broke. Now she has to use the forward and reverse lever to work it. She has to turn it off to stop it. Don't buy it - it is a waste of time & money. If you do, you will be disappointed!
