Did Singer make a treadle model in 1954? I know it was 8 yrs after WWII
Thought everything was electric by then - Please don't laugh
Is this a good deal?

VSMS= Vintage Sewing Machine Shop, on this board. This looks like a model 27, with that ginormous harp space! It's a vibrating shuttle machine that winds the long bobbins, rather than the round ones modern machines use. I don't think these were produced that late into that century. Maybe the 20's, at the latest? What you need to do is get the seller to send you the exact serial number and then you can look up the model and year of manufacture on the Singer site.
I would think it was worth no more than, $150, if in really great shape cosmetically. It does have lots of attachments and the book. That's a plus and worth part of the price.

With the vibrating shuttle, it most definetly is not a model made in the 50's. More like the 20's. It is either a 127 or a 27. I bought a 127 a year ago for $90. It was dirty and the cabinet has a few issues, like a rusty wheel and treadle, but not really bad shape.
