Sitting pretty?

Sitting pretty?
I have been sewing strips around charm pack blocks (2.5 strips around 5" precuts) and some of them seem just a bit off - they seem to be pulling to the right as I sew.
I sew at my dining room table while sitting on a wooden stool. Works for me for now anyway. Finally figured out I wasn't lined up straight with my machine so the usual guides I use to get that 1/4" seam were just off a bit. Once I sat straight with the machine the problem stopped.
Make sense to anyone else? As I got to the end of each block I was pulling it just a tiny bit towards me and ... I was off.
Perhaps I just started paying more attention, but whatever the reason it seems to be fixed.

Makes sense to me too. For 15 years I sat on a wooden stool --This Christmas I bought myself a "task Chair" and it is the most wonderful change in the world! No backache, no buttache. Best $40.00 ever spent.

Makes sense to me! I have amblyopia (lazy eye) that wasn't diagnosed til I was 5. Since my eyes don't coordinate I use my L eye as dominant, and had the worst time trying to get an accurate 1/4" seam. Finally realized I tilt my head to the R and wasn't sitting square to the presser foot so I had been making slightly wider than accurate seams. Just off by a few threads, but it adds up! Sort of like looking at the liquid level in a glass measuring cup from the wrong angle ("parallax error"). There's a new line of fabric that is 3D with special glasses- but doesn't work for me.
