Snail's trail question

Snail's trail question
I want to make a quilt for a friend, a longtime basenji breeder.
The basenji breed has 4 colors the AKC recognizes, so I thought the "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" pattern would be perfect
As a past basenji breeder, I have trouble looking at this objectively, so I'm posing the question here, to quilters:
Is this snails trail block pattern believable as a basenji?
I've included a picture of a basenji and it's curly tail but I will add that when they are very very relaxed, sleeping, it does uncurl (though knowing the temperament of the breed I doubt they would entangle them)
I asked my husband and my son, telling them to be honest, and they said yep, they could be basenjis. Also, the pattern came with 16 different applique head patterns, and a couple are basenji like, so I really only need opinions on the tail

That's a wonderful idea, but she's 4-5 states away, and this is going to be a surprise.
Long story, I'll share it when this quilt is finished.
Thanks all, for the 'it looks perfects" My years of showing basenjis wouldn't let me look at this objectively
