Star Pattern
I'd love to do a star quilt. Each block is 12 inches. I love the look of it but I looked at the directions and it looked so hard. Anyone have an easy pattern that would give similar results?

I love stars too. I was planning to post these pictures today, so you're timing is perfect. This pattern was easy even though the star blocks have a lot of pieces. The pattern is Lucky Stars by Terry Atkinson, who has great designs and very clear directions. What makes the stars easy are two things: (1) the stars "float" so you don't have to worry about losing points at the edges and (2) the star units finish big and are trimmed down to 9.5 inches so they will all be the same size. You might give it a try. I made two twin-size quilts and plan to use the pattern again.
I've seen other QB members' versions of this same pattern. It's beautiful in batiks. Try a search for "Lucky Stars."
