Stupid Spool Question
#4
I've only bought this brand a couple of times before. Usually I can "see" the starter thread they have going round the top part. This one I couldn't, so I kept trying to "find" it. Yes, got it at my LQS. Teachable moment: have the LQS start the spool before I leave the store from now on. DH even tried to start it when he saw me getting frustrated surrounded by needles, pins and scissors... not a pretty -or safe- sight, I'm sure. :)

Mettler is my favorite. It doesn't have the end of the thread hidden on the spool like most. It is usually very close to the center and just tucked under a few "winds" of the thread to keep it secure. The ones I buy have a clear celophane wrap that slips over the spool as well.
