sunflower applique
#1
Does anyone out have a good sunflower applique patter or know where there is one online. I am new to applique so need something relatively simple. I found one but I don't like the stems it looks more like a tree of life than a sunflower plant. Thanks!!!!!

Missi,
There's an adobe download for free for the sunflower project on allpeoplequilt.com....maybe that's along the lines of what you're looking for.

This might be worth a try: make the sunflower using the directions that
Retrogirl suggested from all people quilt. Make a second set of the petals
and use the method that Babeegirl taught us in "Tutorials" Tack those
(they will be dimensional) between two petals making a little tuck where
you tack them down. Then applique the center of the flower on top of
the 2 rows of petals. I think the stem is straight except that the weight of
the flower makes it droop a little at the end. Don't know what the leaves look like.
