Sweet16. Sheet as backing size needle
Hi expert quilters.
im going to start quilting a scrappy quilt using somewhat intricate. FMQ. I’m using warm and natural batting. The sheet is a prewashed 200 count cotton sheet. What size needle should I use on this sit down longarm machine?
thanks

Depending on what thread you're using, I'd use either the 90/14 or the 100/16. On my Sweet16, I mainly use a 90/14 if I'm using a 40 wt. thread like Isacord. If I have problems, then I move up to the 100/16.

I agree, the size needle will depend on the thread you are using. Superior Threads has a longarm thread reference guide here:

Since I use Superior Glide thread I use the 90/14 on my machines. I don't have the sweet 16 but I do have a Grace Original Frame and a 1500se and it works great with this. I am also using it in my FW. Talk about one end to another.

Thanks everyone. I se the superior chart a lot. I normally would use the 90/14 or longarm equivalent with the thread I’m using. . I was wondering if Have I got a sheet 200 count versus typical quilt fabric 80 count would make a difference
