I'm thinking of trying to get a quilt in a judged show, just for the experience. Before you are accepted, you must submit a picture of the full quilt, and a close-up. What's the best way to do this? Laid out on the floor, hanging, color of the background, laid over a couch, etc. I've tried to get a good shot a couple of times by hanging the quilt against my white closet door, but it doesn't seem to hang "flat"; or maybe it's just not flat ;)
Sorry for the flurry of posts lately; I feel like I'm getting so many questions answered! How is it I haven't found this forum before now? Thanks!

Here is a start... good info here. I've tried all of the methods you mentioned, I hang mine from a big archway between my LR & DR and use a tripod or something to set the camera on to keep it still and I don't use a flash. Just lighting behind me. I'm pretty amature but it works for me. Good luck.
