Tension Wheel??
#1
I have a strange question.... Has anyone ever had thier tension wheel pop off? I have finally gotten it stitching and not clumping and my tension wheel just popped off, I cant get it to stay on for more that an inch of stitching. I have an older singer it is a 6211 ... if I dont get it working I am buying a new machine on friday.

I don't know about the tension wheel Sam, but one word of advice on a new machine.. I don't know your budget, but a few months back I found a Brother XL 3750 on sale at Target.. caught my eye because it had a "quilting package" in the box with the machine.. plus was on sale for only $99. so I snatched it up.. it's an awesome machine.. not real complicated, but has a lot of stuff not on my earlier machines I could not be more pleased with the value I've gotten.. I saw another one there this week same deal, but at regular price which is $141. Still, in my estimation .. and I've been sewing for half of forever.. a fantastic starter machine. And not too heavy to take to a class if need be.

Ya I am having no luck finding any advice on this. I have a 50 % off coupon for joannes and they have a singer 405 i think it is seems nice and good starter machine, and with the half off it will only be about 75 dollars! So if this fails me I will go with that on friday.

Are you missing a screw or two? LOL that didn't sound nice did it? But that could be your problem. I would take your machine to a repair shop and they may be able to fix you up quickly and it will probably be a cheap fix.

I thought I did, but I will check again. Thanks... I am about to give up on this whole thing right now, I was soooo excited and now I am so upset that nothing seems to work. To take it to have them look at it it costs 70 dollars so I will buy a new one instead if it doesnt work.

Ya... that is what I thought, because I was getting it to stitch and the wheel is just not staying on, I looked at it and it seems that there is nothing for it to screw into though, so not sure if it is just wore down or what. But probably just going to get a new one I have spent all day yesterday and today trying to figure it out and I got it to do more than it was yesterday until it plopped off again.
