TEXTURE MAGIC
#4
There is lots of info at superiorthreads.com about this product. I think it would be too stiff for a scarf. They have a chart telling you how much fabric you will need to get the size you want in the finished project. It is about 30% more.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I think I need to make something beside the scarf to see how stiff it will be. I don't think it will work because of your comments. Would love to know how to get fabric to wrinkle without being stiff!

Before there was Texture Magic there was The Incredible Shrinking Thread that you could sew on any fabric and make it textured. A few years ago a vendor at Paducah had a lot of this thread and no one was buying. He marked it down to $1 a spool so he wouldn't have to pack it up for the next show and I bought it all. I didn't really know what it was and he didn't know too much about it either. That stuff is expensive now! I got four colors, black, white, gray, and cream four spools of each color. I still haven't found a really good use for the Texture Magic look.
