Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributed to an old thread about a new thread :) I needed to use clear monofilament thread for some raw edge applique so I searched and thanks to all you guys ALL my questions about what to buy, how to use it, and what to expect from the results were answered. Ran out to Joann's, got Sulky polyester clear, set my machine up appropriatly including the glass jar, sewed a sample and first try was a charm.
Thanks everyone. So glad this site has a search function!!

There were several posts, I read them all as all had something different to add. Give me a sec and I'll add them to this post.

OK - those are the main four but there are more if you do a search on "monofilament". But between these 4 I was able to determine what kind of thread to buy, what needle, tension, glass jar trick, whether or not I could iron the thread once used, and how it held up over time. More tips that I didnt' think about asking either.
