Time to celebrate overcoming procrastination
#11
Congrats on your upcoming retirement! You will really enjoy it I'm sure! After I stopped working I didnt know what to do with myself, so I adopted a baby! I guess I'll never know what its like to have time for anything, but I wouldn't change it for the world!

Hi all. Have had an enormous amount of things going on in my life, so between the many tasks, general chaos and stress, several things have taken a backseat but needed to be done. Not generally a procrastinator, but I just couldn't wrap myself around any further tasks and knowing I needed to finish, only compounded the stress. So pleased to report that this winter storm and being the last weekend in February, forced me to complete these tasks today. Happy to say I finished a flannel baby quilt this afternoon with the exception of burying threads and hand sewing the binding. Baby Girl will be due next month and I cannot wait to get the thing out of my house (the quilt!). HATED every minute of making it except for the fabric. Am retiring 3/30/12 and every day has been sheer hell. Needed to gather an enormous amount of documents, compose letters, etc. to convert my health insurance over before the end of March. Pleased to say I accomplished all this too today.
Have poured myself a well-deserved glass of wine, will put my feet up, watch the snow fall and blow and let out another sigh of relief. Onward and upward to the rest of my life and some new quilting projects that I actually want to make. Have to believe life will only improve from this point or at least I'll be more mellow to handle it all without all the added nagging tasks hanging over my shoulders.
Thanks for listening and may you all have a wonderful weekend with true peace of mind.

Congratulations on your retirement. You're going to love waking up on Monday morning and not having to go to work.
I love waking up each day and having my husband ask me "what are we doing today?" I reply, "Whatever we want to do." Good Luck and Happy Quilting!

Good for you. A glass of wine sounds like a great reward. I finally cleaned out pictures in my email in box that have been there for several months. That was my accomplishment for this morning. On to new adventures. Good luck with your retirement. Enjoy it.
