treadle machine ?
I know I could go to the vintage machine thread but there are over two thousand posts and I don't know where to look for the info I am searching for.
I have a singer treadle machine that I am seeking a manual for so I can learn how to properly care, oil and everything thing I need.
The plate # is C5863299 - This is right on the front right side of the base of the machine. No other #'s that I can find.
My question is where do I go to find the info I need to get a manual? I know someone out there has the answer I need. I have googled singer treadles and only find Ebay stuff.
Thanks in advance to all helpers!

www.singerco.com/support/machine-serial-<wbr>numbers. Looks like yours was born in early 1908. I have a 1907 model 27 and love her!!!

Thanks girls for this info and the singer site. I did go there to see about a manual and I will have to call because my machine doesn't have a model #, just a serial # so I will do this on thursday. I'm so excited. She works really well. Her finish is not so pretty but as long as she works I do the happy dance.
If my house burns down, this is the one thing I would try to drag out of the house after my DH and pets!
thanks again, peace

Google "singer treadle sewing machine", and then click on "images". When you find a photo that seems to match your treadle, click on it. This is one way you can figure out the model number.
If you could post a photo here, someone here is likely to be able to give you a model number. There may even be a manual for it free online, but you need to know the model # first. I would not rely on the Singer serial #, as there are probably some mistakes in their database.

If you go to the Vintage and Antique section you can start a new post with "Seeking manual for a Model 27 Singer treadle" and include your serial # in the text. I'm sure someone has a manual and can help you. I have a 27, but haven't fixed it up yet, no manual.

The Singer site says "beginning 1908". That just means that they started making those machines in that year, but your machine could be much later. All the records from the Wittenburg plant are lost. If you post a picture of your machine we may be able to identify it for you. I have manuals for several different machines that I could email you, but only after the machine is identified.
