My latest FW was born 1948. It's not running a stitch! The tension is set to the same as my other two. I have checked and re-checked the threading sequence and put in all new thread top and bobbin and still it will not sew. Any ideas?

Maybe the bobbin case isn't in correctly. I took mine out and the needle plate off to clean the lint out and when I put it back together, I couldn't get it to stitch either. Everything has to line up perfectly in order for it to work. I highly recommend this book...it's got pics and was the only reason I was able to get mine back together again.

that was one thing I made sure of also - the bobbin was in correctly. I even changed it to all new thread

Please check the hook under the needle plate. The hook needs to sit in between the two blocks on the bottom of the needle plate. This needs to be checked every time that the needle plate is removed. I hope this helps!!

nope, sorry to say she's still 'dead in the water'. The tensioner will not release the thread - something is wrong here. I've tried turning it from one end of the spectrum to the other and it's just not happening. I can't even get her to pick up the bobbin thread. Fortunately, there is a local fellow. Looks like I'm taking a drive tomorrow
:-(
