Using Different Fabrics in Quilts
We often see questions about using different types of fabrics in the same quilt. Did anyone else see Sewing with Nancy this morning. In her Nancy's Corner segment she had a lady on who had used fabric from 5 different generations of army uniforms to create a quilt for her (I think) SIL. She had the old high maintenance ones, permanent press, light weight Vietnam era, jungle camo and the new digital camo. It was fabulous. And a great example of how well it can work.

It is not that you can't mix fabrics in a quilt...it's just harder. You have to watch how they shink, how the iron reacts on them and sometimes the machine doesn't like to sew the thick parts. If you are determined, you can do it.
