Walking foot has decided it's half bunny???help
Im trying to stitch in the ditch and my walking foot is great 95percent of the time. Then out of the blue it will hop... I know the great minds on here can tell me my issue, am I going to fast, slow? It has done it before I'm doing a batik quilt but it also does it on cotton. It's a factory walking foot made for my machine not a knock off. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue and what to do to solve it??? Tia

by "hop" do you mean that it skips stitches?
if that's the case you can most likely solve the problem by switching to a bigger needle.

When FMQ is it necessary to drop the feed dog?
I have practiced FMQ dropping the Feed dogs and without. I have only practiced on small pieces, but I find I have much more control without dropping them or will that come with more practice?

If you are talking about 'hopping' off to one side, is that happening when you go over a particularly bulky seam? Mine has been doing it when the offending seam gets to edge of the white part that contains the mechanism and gets momentarily hung up.
