What color for the center of a Log Cabin if I am using purple?
I am considering making a log cabin quilt, using various shades of purple on one side and shades of either white or cream on the other of each block. But I am puzzling over what color to use in the center.
Yellow? Pink? Deep purple? I really haven't made a log cabin except for one block years ago as part of a guild project. I sort of remember that red is often the center color, but surely not with purple?
Does anyone have any suggestion for me? I googled purple log cabin quilts, but that didn't seem to help too much. The few I found had either a light purple or a dark purple as the center. It looked good, but that may not be what I want this time. I do a lot of quilts in shades of purple and white. I think I want to switch it up a bit...not enough to not do purple though.
Thanks for thinking with me.

Traditionally red was in the center to symbolize the fire or fireplace in the center of the Log Cabin. Since you are doing purple and cream/ white, I would do something that went with those. Perhaps a patterned fabric in purple and white?
