What to do with old patterns?
I've been cleaning out my sew room and reorganizing all my patterns that I have. some old patterns that I will never make again and I would like to sell them at a garage sale is Allowed? What does everyone do with old patterns?

You can sell them, trash them or give them away. After I use a pattern and know I won't make it again I take it to my guild's sale table. (the member that buys it, I know I can borrow it again if ever) Last year the guild made enough from the table to buy the Accuquilt Studio and a few basic dies to make our donation quilts.

Our quilt guild has a "free" table and patterns always disappear. You can also check with senior centers. The guild recently held a sale to find new homes for older books in the library. What didn't sell was sent to a woman's prison and we got a letter back about how wonderful it was to get "new" books for their library.

yes, you can sell them, just don't make a copy, that's the "wrong" part of it. you mau offer them here on the board in the classifieds

My vote would be to donate them to Goodwill. A lot of quilters frequent those stores.

I agree with Donate them. However, it would best be done through a quilting guild or group. Otherwise they are likely to be thrown out. That is unless they are very old and the directions cumbersome as compared to today's rotary cutting, strip piecing, and such.
If you want to keep some, scan them into your computer or a flash drive so you will have your memories.

While they may be 'old' to you there are those of us who might be searching for an 'old' pattern.
Like right now I'm looking for the Fons & Porter Love of Quilting magazine July/Aug 2009.
"Old" can be "new" to someone else.
