I love this super fast jelly roll quilt, but I would add some red or another color to black and whites for that extra "spark". You can also search "jelly rolls" in the search feature and get lots of ideas.

YES , Please !!!
A quilting friend is currently working on a gorgeous BW quilt - I'll find out the name of the pattern. It's super easy, something about BW sq w/a red accent. Sharp! Let me know if you're interested.

I saw a small strip pieced quilt on here the other day, it may have been a baby quilt, that was just all laid out on the diagonal and came out really cute. Liked it much better than the ones that are just strips straight across or up and down.
I did a strip pieced one that I sewed four coordinating strips together, cut on the diagonal and put back together to create a pinwheel/windmill effect. It was done in multicolor, but would look really good in black & white too. This was 2-1/2" strips.

I don't know the name of the pattern rightoff hand - we had a horrible car crash and fire last night and haven't been to bed yet.
The pattern that I am thinking about is kind of like a log cabin or courthouse steps, but you start with a square in the corner and build out. My first thought was to have the small square red and the black and white strips out from there.
