I inherited a Singer Featherweight 221 machine (1953) from my MIL. I would like to find a cabinet for it.
I am not looking to spend thousands on Ebay for a vintage cabinet, but I am wondering if anyone knows of a company that makes reproduction cabinets.
I would like it to be a piece of furniture so I could use it as a display piece.
My husband doesn't have carpentry skills so plans for making one wouldn't work for me. Thanks. ;)

I don't think there was ever a cabinet made for the Featherweight. It was sold with a table specially sized for it. The tables are very much sought-after because they are much rarer than the machine. A featherweight table in good condition can cost several hundred dollars.
I would think that other cabinets could possibly be modified to house a featherweight. It seems to me, though, that the featherweight was not made with bolts the way most cabinet machines are. I think it was simply set on top of a metal "cradle" in the table so it would be flush with the working surface.

There was a cabinet made for the featherweights. I've seen pictures but they're rare, expensive and hard to find. I saw some reproductions for sale that were nicely made, they cost less but still pricey. These were probably on ebay if I remember right. You might google "Singer Featherweight Cabinet". Also you might check on needlebar for a picture.

Check out this web:

Maybe you could find a square or oval table like this one.
Good luck :)
