White eyelet

White eyelet
I am making quilts for each of my three children. My daughter has requested an all white quilt, or with varying shades of white. Has anyone made a quilt using white eyelet? I want it to have soft vintage look.

When i've used eyelet for accent, I've backed it with another lightweight fabric. That way no batting can work it's way through the eyelet holes. The eyelet I used was a very lightweight fabric so backing it did not make it heavier than most quilting cotton.
I have 5 yards of really pretty eyelet with a border design. I bought it on sale for about $1 yard and figured some day I'd find an idea of how to use it in a quilt, so I'll be looking forward to what you come up with.

This is more a question than an absolute solution but would netting or tulle work for this? Is it durable enough? It wouldn't add weight to the fabric. It is suggested for over the top of some fabrics so that's what brings me to inquiring of opinions.

I used eyelet as the binding on one of my wholecloth quilts. It is wide so I folded it over itself to get sturdy cloth in the binding and let the eyelet area itself be a inner edge border. I'd show a picture but the air condition unit is blocking that closet. I stitched it down with pearl beads.
