Would you want to know if someone notices a flaw?

No. It would serve no purpose on something that is finished and long gone. Some people are more sensitive than others so unless you personally know the person you have no idea how they will take your comments.
You might note on your post if anyone sees a mistake to let you know if that's your preference.

I told people who had not quilted their tops and they were able to fix them. I don't know, I guess it depends if you consider it criticism(I didn't!). I was trying to help, but maybe I will think twice next time...

I did not see it at first. I probably would not say anything. I had a friend who would turn work over and scrutinize the back side to see how well you had done. I moved and lost touch, but never saw anyone say anything negative to her. She was a nice lady, just her way.

I think that if we were asked for our opinions, and I saw a glaring one (to me) that no one else has commented on, I would PM her/him and mention it diplomatically as possible. I'm sure in such a situation she/he would like to know. Especially if that quilt was on its way to a show.
Otherwise, I would remark on the lovely colors and shut up about any perceived flaws.

I would like to know if it is not too late to fix it. I have shown a quilt top that I was asking for help with the border choices and someone pointed out that a block was turned the wrong way. I SO appreciated that!!! I would much rather know about it and fix it than have it go "out" like that.
A PM sent would probably be the nicest way to go.

I wouldn't comment on a flaw, unless specifically asked to. I try not to judge other's hard work, and just appreciate it as it is. I don't know of anything that is man made that doesn't have some kind of flaw.

None of my quilts have flaws...everything you see wrong - I did on purpose!
As a newbie - if I ask for help - then give it. If I didn't and I post here - it means (to me) that I like it and am pleased what what I have and want to show it off...since I'm so new I try not to compare myself to others on this board.
I think the other thing is how well do you "know" the person....there are several on here who post on all my pictures - I would probably take a "hint" from them easier than someone I hadn't seen posting with me before.
So I don't know....

As a new quilter I would appreciate it if someone saw a block that was turned wrong or something that was very noticable that they would let me know so I could fix it. I try to follow patterns and at this time I check and recheck sometimes to the point that I don't enjoy doing it anymore. Then I think this is supposed to be enjoyable and I rush to get it finished and in doing so I mess up. I would love to have someone pm me and let me know. Don't get me wrong I love all the positive comments everyone makes but I want to know if I messed up too. I can't learn if everyone just makes nice comments and doesn't let me know I messed up.
