Ok nothing like working on a block and you go to press and somehow it seems wrong. So I touch the fabric and it is cold. I touch the iron it is cold. The light is on on the iron. The plug is plugged in. Hmmmm. Me think it is broken. So yesterday I went shopping for another iron and then went and visited one of our members in the boom who has had shoulder replacement surgery.

For those of you ladies who are being charge $6+ to ship a block- you should be able to ship it in a free priority box for $5.15, or even a smaller, matchbox size box for about $2.90. $6 is ridiculous, and I think I would buy postage online before I would let someone tell me $6 per block!

The issue in postage is the thickness of the envelope, not necessarily the contents. If the envelope is over 1/4" in thickness, the clerk is supposed to charge the package rate. The clerk has a tool for measuring this. If the envelope fits through the slot easily it should still be the letter rate. If you think the thickness of your envelope is under 1/4" ask the clerk to check by passing it through the slot in front of you.
