well, after the search party found me in the bowels of my sewing room after several days...
i emerged with an almost finished row for 'Boopers'
just have to do the 'birds feet', and some last leaves that will slightly overlap the sashing borders, and it's finished!!!
here are a few pics.

i never get the option to post pics with my writing, so i add them after when it does give me the option. but i can only do 1 picture at a time. i'm not sure if it's a 'mac' thing...mmmm
sorry, birds right is slightly blurred...
i still also need to do the strings for the hanging peanuts & coconut bird feeder lol...
the more i look, the more i see!!
i need to stop looking!!!!!

thank you, very kind words. i have enjoyed these last 2 applique pieces. they have definitely been something 'different' to do.
pat, time to get your thinking hat on lol... sorry!
betty, i hope you can recognise the birds that you talked about;
you have the 2 different finches on the right, although there are yellow, brown and red breasted, 2 look maybe like male/female.
then there are are a couple of brightly coloured(lol!) cedar wax wings. i couldn't find a definite ID on the king birds so they were replaced by your 'state' bird of the 'mountain blue bird' which there are 2 of. last on the left you have 2 of your bullock orioles.
. this was def' an enjoyable challenge! and nice to meet birds that are new to me:) you have some pretty native birds! i can tell you! :-) :thumbup:
(they don't appear to like the 'monkey nut strings though! mmm lol)
BTW, a little side note to Dayle & Betty.
ALL the raw edges on both of your rows have had the 'fray check' treatment. so hopefully, (!) they should be ok when washed & during use. there shouldn't be any problems with fraying material. plus i used a 1.2 stitch close to edges as well as the 'fray check'. this applies to any raw edge applique i will be doing on anyones row.
