Halloween Block Swap 2014
#194
Hey girls a gal from Canada asked about the process to join the swap with us. Isn't the flat rate envelope good for international mailing too? I was thinking it might be just a little higher in price and that you have to fill out a customs form, but that would be the only difference, right?

There is several posts re international mailing in either June or july secret pal thread (I think it's in the June one) the only difference is the cost of mailing, it takes longer and the customs form but that's it. Gaijin lives in Japan joins the boom swaps and has no issues with mailing.
I hope she joins it will be fun :-)
I almost regret getting my done so fast I almost feel like I'm missing the fun hahaha

No, I did finish all the ornament blocks, I didn't like the way my snowman was coming out so shelved that one, or atleast that version of a snowman. I'm working on a snowy pine tree block now that I'm liking once I get one done I'll post a picture.

Hi all,
I've been watching this thread with a lot of interest as I am a Halloween freak. Unfortunately, postage makes it impossible for me to participate. I am in Canada and Canadian postal rates are rude and it seems to take an average of two weeks between Canada and USA, or USA and Canada. The only way to use the US flat rate envelopes would be if I made a couple of special trips across the border for mailing and pick-up. (Flat rate to Canada seems to be $20. To USA $6.) At two hours plus for border line-ups, that won't happen. Only teeny, tiny possibility is if we need to cross for another reason and I know ahead of time.
I will continue to watch the thread. There are some great blocks showing up. You all should be proud of yourselves. I hope you show off the finished quilts, too.
