Rhonda's 4th Wall Hanging Swap - July - 0ct 2013
#204
Ube on your quilt top and the bottom row
I wouldn't have noticed it and I had to look 4 times before I realized what was wrong.
It's very pretty! I have never tried any of the spools. but I love the look of them.
You've done a great job on this!

Ube I just love your work. I can copy many things but I have difficulty innovating.
Jaba here is another fused piece. I copied the pattern from a sticker. It is for a friend who is a teacher - her theme this year is owls (5th grade). We also copied the pattern onto 8.5" squares. The kids will color the owls and I will heat set them and create a wallhanging. I love this owl though -he has googy eyes! Why am I on a bird kick?????

Very nice owl.
Just like you JNCT14, I see something I like and get an idea from it. Then I have to figure out a way to make the idea happen. I do not draw and get most of my stuff from any where I see a design, shape, figure or what ever and then pull it into a quilt.
My Idea for the Q on this WH came from wanting to identify a place as a quilting space. "I am a quilter and this is my space".
I incorporated scrapes from another quilt and the center block is from the backing of that quilt. The old tradition of use what you have.
The one part of the spool block uses the square on the corner, sew diagonally and trim the corner off. I made a mini quilt using the leftover bits which I will post a little later.
It is always one thing starts another and another and keeps the ball rolling.
have fun.
peace

JNCT, love your owl! My 4 yo GD loves them too. I'm doing the BOM of owls at Fat Cat patterns. I love applique & just finished drawing my pattern for this swap. Love your rooster too- I have those in my kitchen (hint)
