Retirement Investment
For years, I said that I was buying fabric as an investment for my retirement. Retirement has arrived!! I spent hours over two weeks getting all fabric folded - or refolded - to fit the new wire cube storage. If it didn't fit and I didn't love it, I donated it to a quilts for the needy group.
Wire storage was inexpensive and fit the inside of the closet completely from side to side. Although our house is a 3-bedroom and both children are grown and gone, DH does not want to make either of the empty rooms a sewing room. But I did take over the closet! The storage cubes I had before (from Target, they come flat and you put them together) didn't fit well - lots of wasted space at the end, but not enough to add another set. Plus they were only 3 tall, which meant I kept stacking stuff. You can imagine what that looked like!
Eventually I found these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to fit the closet perfectly. The 20-cube set would have been less expensive, but I wasn't sure I would like them, so ordered the set of 8 (and then a second set of 8). They are 13" wide, so I wrapped fabrics around my 6.5" wide Creative Grids ruler and folded to length.
