I love to select fabrics from my LQS. I like to really see the colors and I like to run my hand over the fabrics. Just seeing and feeling gives me a thrill. I’ve tried buying online but I don’t always get what I thought I was buying. Maybe it’s my old laptop that doesn’t always show true colors and quality. If the quilt is a donation, then online is fine. But if the quilt is for a family member or friend, I only use LQS fabrics.

Keepsake was bought by a NC quilt company called Pineapple. Both put out a daily internet special. Pineapple closed the retail store because of covid but was supposed to reopen this week. Their sales are quite nice.

I'm fortunate that we have several LQS within about 30-40 minutes from us. But all have been impacted by the pandemic--not necessarily bad for all--those with a solid online presence are doing fine despite having to limit # in stores and doing curbside pick-up. Actually the two stores closest together, one that really restricted #'s and even made appt. only on some days does as well as the other that never closed or limited #'s as many like the safer feel of the first. I will say those that did not have a solid online presence before the pandemic are scrambling to stay open.
