Jinny Beyer Retail Store? DC
#1
Has anyone been to the Jinny Beyer Retail Store? I found an ad in a 2005 magazine. Says if traveling to DC, to visit. It's 21 miles from DC. I'm considering it but wondering if anyone here has been there.

I go there once a month. I live across the river from it. If you like her fabric, you will love her shop. She usually has great sale fabrics upstairs, and her quilts are on display. It is worth the trip.

I just scored on a garage sale find--JB's book of Quilter;s Album of Blocks and Borders printed in 1980 for $1! While telling my sis about it she checked with Amazon and found one for $37. JB is such a creative lady with pattern and fabric. If I lived closer, I'd be at her studio in a flash!

I have spent entirely too much time and money in that shop the last 18 months. Met Jinny a few times, she is very nice and so helpful, but my favorite person in that shop is Linda M. I think there are two Lindas, but Linda M. is just a doll, always seems to be in the shop and available to you. She will find you that perfect fabric accent to finish the pattern you are contemplating. She has such a wealth of knowledge and is also a great quilting instructor, kind of like a mini-Jinny, but she isn't a little person.
Also, each November Jinny Beyer organizes a Quilters Quest with about a dozen stores that each give out a free block pattern. I think this year the theme is stars.

I've wondered about posting here to see if anyone would be interested in meeting at Jinny's shop and if we could arrange for Jinny to be available to meet us. Just an idea.

I have been there. I believe it is in the town of Falls Church , Virginia (right on the outskirts of DC). My son and his wife live there. If you love her quilts, you will love this place. Here is a map. It is off route 193. lhttp://www.jinnybeyer.com/map.cfm?axis_v=2
Good luck!!
