Making a fun or beautiful quilt for a child who probably never had something so much "just for themself" is a wonderful way to "take a break" between the more challenging designs. I do it also and know how much it can mean. The last time I did this I knew the family and took the quilts over to the kids. They didn't react much until they were told to take them, they were theirs. The two girls (about 7 and 10) took the quilts wrapped themselves in them, went into their bedroom and when I peeked in they were studying the quilts. Later I asked if I coud take a picture of them with their quilts and they would not put the design side out! They said that was their side, almost as if by sharing the specialness they might loose it! It was a beautiful gift they returned to me.

What a great idea. I have done kids quilts but never even thought of this....good idea I think I will call and see if there are any kids In my area that fit this category. I am making some lap quilts for the nursing home for those residents that do not have any family members. I love the fabric you used, those kids will just love them. Thanks for sharing.
