2 Baby Quilts
#1
I finished the hand sewing on these yesterday. A (mostly) satin puff quilt for a gift, this was fun to sew, even with all the stringy fraying. I adore it, great textures. I skipped the border & used a layer of flannel behind the puffs instead of batting because the last one was SO heavy. The brocade butterflies are some of my favorite scraps from a prior quilt. Every bit was from stash so another freebie!
And I pieced this top over 3 yrs ago for half of a friends twin gift & then changed my mind and did 2 totally different quilts, glad to finally finish it. I used a FMQ tutorial from this blog http://afewscraps.blogspot.com/ and it was excellent! I really improved my quilting skills. Flannel batting again & I used a cream corduroy on the back. I've been hoarding the Heather Ross prints for years, if I'm really frugal I can knock out a few more baby quilts with the rest.
Sorry about the lousy pics, all I had available was the dining room table
