This quilt is my third bed-sized quilt. It is for my son who is away at college now. I'm going to give it to him for Christmas. The solid blocks were supposed to be brick red, and I had already purchased the fabric when he asked for a black and green quilt. He traveled in Brazil last year and loves the country. The Brazilian flag is green and black (and his high school colors were green and black too). I added the green border just to get more green into the mix.
While he was in Brazil, he learned to speak Portuguese fluently. I've named this quilt "Preto e Verde," which means "black and green" in Portuguese.
I asked the longarmer to do whatever she liked, but asked her not to do anything too feminine. I think she did a pretty good job.
