here is the one xmas gift i got done, and i hate it!!!! I hate the white borders, i tied it instead of quilting it, and i ended up hating it too. the triangles and squares didnt come out big enough, but I did learn ALOT from this quilt.
I got the pattern from quilters chache..called the art square. I will be doing this pattern again, only not with something so specific.
okay, here is what i learned:
1- make a sample block if you are unsure!
2- buy all your coordinating fabric at once or you might not find what your looking for ( i wanted the white to be one of the shades of grey and i needed more red and went to three different stores just to find it)
3- buy a bit more then you think you will need
4- do NOT procrastinate if it has a deadline.
okay, i am done renting. whew. guess i will work on something less stressful now. no more deadline! however, my mother-in-law called to see how i was doing and i told her everything, and she reminded me that since it was a xmas gift for a 9 year old, and I had to ship it, i will never have to look at it again, and she will love it cuz it was homemade and her "Favorite racer".. except if i page through my scrapbook of projects...which i will one day start.
lol but thats another project.

It looks wonderful! I love the white sashing! It makes the focus fabric pop! I'm sure your beautiful quilt will be well received. Who wouldn't love a custom quilt wrapped around them while reading or watching tv? Great job!
