Bonnie Hunter inspired quilt
#44
this is wonderful. i started saving my hubbys plaid shirts to make a quilt out of. when i told him i almost have enough for a quilt, he was upset and said NO! he didn't want a quilt out of old shirts. heart broken i set the box up high thinking i would donate the shirts to a charity. couldn't let go of the quilt idea. you have so inspired me w a "to heck w him" attitude. and i think if he sees it he will love it as much as i love this one. he likes boxer shorts to wear...so far i have resisted saving any of those wonderful colorful plaides...but it isn't easy! ...and he might recognize some of them lollol

very nice neutral quilt. Thanks for sharing. I have learned so much from Bonnie Hunter too! I spent a lot of time checking out all her free patterns and I love scrappy so her site has been my "go to" web site "quiltville.com"

Go ahead and make your quilts. He will love them when you're done, even if they are from his 'old shirts.' What is old is new again in a quilt! Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville.com also has a pattern using men's shirts and it's Rectangle Wrangle I think is the name. Different! Check out her free patterns! This is one of hers that I just finished called "Cathedral Stars".

Here are Bonnie's instructions for webbing the rows, make it so much easier to keep the blocks in the right places
