Decisions decisions need design help
I finished my first rag quilt for my 3 year old nephew. For some odd reason, I found it very frustrating - but on the positive side i learned how to use the seam ripper! LOL
Now my 4 year old Niece wants a quilt..don't know if I should make a rag quilt or a simple square in a square block quilt. Size would be a small lap quilt or something in the 45x60 range.
Attached are pics of the finished rag quilt that I made, 2 designs, and the fabric I will be using for my niece's quilt.
What do you recommend? All suggestions appreciated! Thank-you

Love, love, love the colors. Maybe, some chenille by the yard, not handmade) as alternate blocks for texture. Think of incorporating her name and handprints with the date in it and she will appreciate it as she grows., even her height and weight can be added. I made a panel print for a great nephew and his mother says he still has it at 14 ys old. My DD had a security blanket for years also. It finally became a small portion, but it was still her security. Again, love the colors. Keepop it simple.

Anything you do with this fabrics will be great! I love the rag quilt setting. Very nice. Bottom line what do you want to do. You might try a different pattern. I personally don't like to do the same pattern more than once or twice. Keep us posted on what you choose
