Dogwood Tree Quilt
I'm not sure what order these will come up...
This is my second machine-quilted quilt.
One of the pictures is the center of the quilt. There are 28 of the dogwood flowers in the center of the quilt. I have quilted 21 of them. You can see three on the bottom are not quilted yet!! Another picture is a close up of one. I didn't have any yellow thread for the center, and I didn't want to buy any, so I used some off-white and it worked really well. My stitches are too small to see the thread! The other picture is how it looks when I'm playing with it! As you can see, I have a regular sewing machine (Janome 3022) with a normal-sized throat (6 inches? I can't find the specs for it online and I can't measure it right now). The quilt is queen-sized but it's been fairly easy to quilt. I'm tired of the blossoms, and I want to skip ahead to the leaves, but I'm making myself finish the flowers first! I still have not decided what to do with the "white area" of the quilt, but I'm planning on echoing the entire center design once (or twice if it needs it!) so it will be a while before I get to the white area anyway. I'm hoping the quilt will talk to me, but so far, it's giving me the silent treatment!
