Elisabrat's BOM Medallion quilt finished!
This was a wonderful quilt along...hopefully there will be another this year! hint, hint!
I posted these pics in the BOM thread, but I want to post it here so maybe someone will be inspired by my lack of fear, and try something(s) new!!
I just finished FMQ'ing mine on my little machine. I am a beginner FMQ'er, and knew this was a me-quilt, so I tried some new things. Thanks to Feline fanatic, I used "Diane-shiko" around the appliquéd center. I drew a 1" grid on the diagonal, and attempted to shiko around the grid....by no means perfect, but if I don't try it, I will never improve, right?! I also practiced straight line stitching with the feed dogs down...much more difficult for me than curves!
To all of you hesitant to drop those dogs....just do it! I am going to attempt some feathers....soon...maybe....
Thanks to Brat for her leadership, and to Feline for her encouragement!

I love how this turned out JillMC! So glad you decided to try it as the results are simply stunning. You really got that inside applique element to pop with the beautiful dianeshiko framing it and the background crosshatch behind it. And I know first hand how time consuming it is to do a cross hatch in the background like you did in all those little tiny spots in the center. A lot of starts and stops. Be proud, this quilt is just lovely!
