I finally finished this little quilt for our cousin's new baby girl. It is late (she was born on 2/23) but better late than never. A few notes:
1. This is the New Wave quilt from Elizabeth Hartmann. I changed the proportions of the wedges because I felt that the original size was too much for a baby. Of course, doing that made the quilt smaller so I added a border. That turned out well because I then quilted butterflies in the border.
2. I did the faux piped binding. This was my first time doing a machine binding and it gave me fits! However, I believe that it was partially due to user error and even though I struggled with it I did like it and I will try it again.
3. Finally, I noticed when uploading the pics just now that I sewed the label onto the wrong end of the quilt. So, the green row should be on top and the purple on the bottom. I'm a bit bummed about that since I put so much thought into the color flow but, c'est la vie.
