I have a friend that needed a baby quilt for a new grandson in Ohio. The room theme was "Under the Sea" with pastel blues and greens and a bit of dark blue. Try as I may from my stash, the only thing that struck me was these deeper tones. And as luck would have it, she loved it too. This is the same pattern I've used before in another quilt for her, which she was very happy with, and wanted to have again for this quilt. It finished out at 33"x45", warm and natural cotton batting, hand sewn binding, and free motion quilting around the fishies and on some of the background in the main blocks as well as stitch-in-the-ditch elsewhere.

Yes, I did free motion around all the fish and sea creatures in the blocks in the center and in the outside border. I also did some stitching on the background drawing of coral and things in the center blocks to make it "pop". My free motion gets a little out of control sometimes, but not too bad, and I'm learning to stay closer to what I'm trying to outline.
