Halloween quilt in progress
#1
This is going to be for one of my 5 grands ... yes I have 4 more of these quilts to make. Nope I will not get them done by the end of this month, LOL
Fortunately I have lots of these blocks which were from several years of block swaps at my old quilt guild. Some of them are dupes for the quilts and some are single blocks.
Unfortunately, at least it seems, that many of the blocks are orange colored or have orange sashing squares and it is difficult to not get too much orange matching up in the little '4 patches' where the blocks meet up.
So I took this photo before stitching the rows together to see how it looks so far. Sometimes you can spot things in a photo that you can't see with just your eyes.

Hi, I'm not familiar with your work, but this Halloween Quilt really is exciting. I'm thinking, "OH! I would like to make one of these one day... but a little different..."
I would re-align the squares, organizing a bit by the colors of the FRAMES, and then make Diagontal stripes of the green-framed squares, from (upper left) corner to (lower right) corner, then the black frames, the purple frames, etc. It would give a bit more structured look.

That's an idea! I'll have to see how that would work out. Sometimes the idea is wonderful but the blocks available don't fit the idea. But sure gonna give it a try.
I let the kids pick out the blocks they wanted in their quilts, so even tho I have lots and lots of blocks, I can't do much substituting of the blocks that they want, even if it is to color coordinate.
